General Climb Questions
How long does it take most people to climb the tower?
On average, most participants are able to climb in 45 minutes or so — roughly the same amount of time as a 5K.
Can I climb with a backpack or my kid?

What happens if I don’t meet my fundraising deadline?
Participants will not be able to get their bib until they have met their fundraising minimum.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, as a 501(c)3 organization, all donations to Shirley Ryan AbilityLab are tax-deductible.
What are the registration types?
All participants will receive a t-shirt, bib and medal for participating.
Climber: Take your shot at climbing to 103! This option is best for in-person stair-climbing participants.
Virtual Climber: Climb to 103 from anywhere! Participate virtually by tracking your activity in the weeks leading up to the climb. A bib and t-shirt will be mailed to you.
Climber + Packet Mailed: Want to skip packet pickup? We will send your bib to your in advance. Please note: Your fundraising minimum must be met by Oct. 1 to have your bib mailed.
Hand Cyclist: Hand cycle your way to 103. Join us on event day to cycle the equivalent distance of the climb.
Corporate Sponsor: For our corporate sponsor participants, a registration code from your team captain is required. Corporate sponsor registration and fundraising minimums will vary by team. Participants may choose to climb in-person or virtually. To learn more about corporate sponsorship, please visit our sponsorship page.
What are the registration amounts & fundraising deadlines?
Registration fee: $50
Minimum Fundraising Requirement: $200
In order to receive your bib and t-shirt, you must meet your fundraising requirement.
Fundraising Deadlines:
- Climber, Handcyclist: Friday, November 1 (event weekend)
- Climber + Packet Mailed: October 1
- Virtual: October 1
- Corporate Sponsors: Please confirm all fundraising requirements with your team captain
